I am the Manager of the Media Industries Project, a research initiative of the Carsey-Wolf Center at UC Santa Barbara that focuses especially on digitization, globalization, and creative labor. I oversee MIP research projects, website content, and publications, and I am responsible for identifying ways to improve dialogue between the industry and the academy. My own research focuses on the creative industries, especially creative clusters, as regional development tools and the impact they have on creative labor. My dissertation focused on the creation of the Digital Media Quarter in Glasgow, Scotland. I earned my Ph.D. from the Department of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas at Austin.
