Ryan Banfi is a PhD Candidate in Cinema Studies at New York University Tisch School of the Arts. He is a Corrigan Fellow at NYU and he is a Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar. Ryan holds a BA from the Claremont Colleges in Literature and Media Studies and a MA in Cinema and Media Studies from the University of Southern California. He has been published in Flow Online Journal and Studies in European Cinema. Ryan’s research interests include Television Studies, Disability Studies, and Latin American Cinema and Television. He is currently researching the divide of TV broadcasting technology in South America (NTSC vs. PAL) and how it has affected contemporary Latin American television.
