I'm an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication and Digital Media Production at Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa. Before taking the role at Grand View, I produced photojournalism and videojournalism work for clients including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, USA TODAY, and more. I continue to produce content for these clients in addition to my duties as an instructor. My graduate thesis explored the ways news photographers use and evaluate their tools to establish presence among their subjects.
