I am a PhD candidate in English and Cinema Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. I am currently completing a dissertation on secularism and U.S. culture at the turn of the twentieth century. My television and film criticism has appeared in Salon, Slant, The House Next Door, The Derivateur, and The Los Angeles Review of Books, and I am a contributor to and co-founder of the blog, Dear Television.
