Rachel E. Silverman (Ph.D., University of South Florida) is an Associate Professor of Communication in the Department of Humanities and Communication at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Dr. Silverman’s research focuses on the intersection of religion, gender, and sexuality in popular culture, women’s health, and food studies. She is the editor of The Fantasy of Reality: Critical Essays onThe Real Housewives (Peter Lang 2015) and co-editor of Communicating Pregnancy Loss: Narrative as a Method for Change(Peter Lang, 2014). Dr. Silverman has also published articles in journals such as Sexuality and Culture, Health Communicationand the Journal of Religion and Popular Culture.
