Looking Back: McAllister's & Ruggill's "Resistance is Futile. You will be Assimilated." (Jan 2013- How do we build digital cohorts & academic communities?)

Ken McAllister and Judd Ruggill responded to our very first Field Guide Survey: How do we build digital cohorts and academic communities? In "Resistance Is Futile. You Will Be Assimilated," they say, "eventually academics will be punished for not collaborating" and then goes on to assert, "The solitary scholar—not the collaborator—will be the outlier: dubious, incalculable, and jobless."

How has the expectation for scholarly collaboration increased or become more necessary over the past three years? Do you find yourself collaborating more? More co-authored publications? Do we see fewer and fewer lone wolf scholars?
