Looking Back: Kuhn's "It's in the Making" (April 2013 - What are the differentiations and intersections of media studies and the digital humanities?)

In April 2013, MC asked scholars, "What are the differentiations and intersections of media studies and the digital humanities?" At the time, this was a hot topic because defining and differentiating digital humanities from other disciplines, understanding the relationship to other disciplines, figuring out where best to "house" digital humanities, etc. were questions dighum scholars were debating.

Virginia Kuhn, who at the time identified more as a "digital rhetorician," says, "I use terms like digital humanist strategically and contingently, and in this respect, I follow the sentiments of the crowd-sourced Digital Humanities Manifesto 2.0, which argues that the term is not perfect, but it is a placeholder for what comes next."

So, what of the term "digital humanist" now? How has the term evolved? Has it taken root? Acquired a stronger, more clearly defined foothold?
