Julia Leyda is a Senior Fellow at Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies, Potsdam. She also serves as Fellow with the DFG Research Unit “Popular Seriality: Aesthetics and Practice” and Senior Research Fellow in the Graduate School for North American Studies, both at the John F. Kennedy Institute, Freie Universität Berlin. She works in the areas of Film and Media Studies, Cultural Studies, and Literary Studies, and her most recent books include Extreme Weather and Global Media (co-ed. Diane Negra, Routledge 2015), American Mobilities: Geographies of Class, Race, and Gender in US Culture (Transcript 2016), and Post-Cinema: Theorizing 21st-Century Film (co-ed. Shane Denson, REFRAME 2016).
