Sarah Lahm is a postgraduate researcher who is currently writing up her thesis in the School of Media and Communication at the University of Leeds. Her research is concerned with the aesthetics and storytelling practices of contemporary women-centric US TV. In her work, she explores the ways in which recent half-hour dramas articulate the contradictions of feminist discourse’s current junctures. By tracing the trope of the fragmented female subject and investigating currently popular mashups of genres, she hopes to contribute to our understanding of twenty-first century feminisms and television storytelling practices.
