Imani is a DC native with a scholarly appetite for European/ American Cultural Studies. She is a museum enthusiast and visual culture activist with a strong research background. Imani lives in Regensburg, Germany and is married with two small children. She is currently in her last semester as a M.A. student at the University of Regensburg, where she focuses on performance, memory and visual culture studies. Imani is bilingual, an avid reader and a Joffrey/ Dance Theater of Harlem alumnae examining performances of race, identity and gender, art as social practice and the transatlantic relationship between blackness in Europe and in the United States. Imani is also passionate about using art to create connections around the world, building bridges between cultures, and empowering communities.
