Adriano D'Aloia is an associate professor of Film & Media studies in the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design at the Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. He earned a PhD with a dissertation on empathy in the film experience (2010). He is the author of the book "A Neurofilmology of the Moving-Image Experience. Enactive Screens" (forthcoming), curator of the anthology of Rudolf Arnheim’s Italian writings on cinema (2009), co-editor of an Italian reader on contemporary film theories (2017) and of the special issue "Neurofiomology. Audiovisual studies and the challenge of Neuroscience (2014). His publications have also appeared in NECSUS, Senses of Cinema, Screening the Past, montage av, Bianco e Nero, Iluminace and in a number edited books. He is a member of the editorial board of the academic journals "Cinéma&Cie. International Film Studies Journal" and "CS. Journal of Media, Performing Arts and Cultural Studies". He is director of communication at CUC – Consulta Universitaria del Cinema, the Italian society of film and media scholars.
