Alan Blanchard is presently a full-time graduate student in the Humanities and Cultural Studies Department at the University of South Florida seeking a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts degree with a focus in American Studies while also pursuing a certificate in Film Studies. He holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering with an emphasis in experimental fluid dynamics and conducted his graduate research at the NASA-Langley Research Center as a NASA Graduate Student Researchers Program fellow while attending Old Dominion University. He is also a graduate of the USAF Test Pilot School and spent several years conducting flight tests before shifting to program management work. He has held positions as an environmental engineer, a medical research manager, and an assistant professor teaching leadership and management. His current research interests focus on the individual’s creation of and responses to digital media, especially music videos.
