Ashley Smalls is a Ph.D. student at Penn State University. Her main research interest centers on the lack of accurate media representation for black women and the intersection of Black Feminism and nerd culture. She has worked as an editor for Forbes Magazine, Complex Networks, and the New York Daily News.
