Meghan Sutherland is Associate Professor of Cinema & Visual Studies at the University of Toronto and a founding co-editor of the online journal World Picture. Apart from her book on The Flip Wilson Show (Wayne State UP, 2008), her writings on politics, aesthetics, media, and philosophy have appeared in journals including Critical Inquiry, Theory & Event, Framework, and Flow. She is currently completing a book on the variety form and its role in the spectacular imaginary of modern liberalism.
