Patrick Brodie is a PhD candidate in Film and Moving Image Studies, in affiliation with the School of Irish Studies, at Concordia University in Montreal. He received his MA in Film Studies from Columbia University. His dissertation project, entitled “Wild Tides: Media Infrastructure and Built Space in Post-Financial Crisis Ireland,” investigates the transnational politics of spatial development in relation to Irish media industries. His current focus is on the global data center industry. His work has appeared and is forthcoming in Media, Culture and Society, Culture Machine, Environment and Planning E: Nature and Space, Continuum: Journal of Media and Cultural Studies, Journal of Popular Culture, Synoptique: An Online Journal of Film and Moving Image Studies, and The Irish Times. He is a member of the Global Emergent Media Lab at Concordia University and the Grierson Research Group at McGill University.
