George Mason University MA Sociology student studying cosplayers. My interests lie in how cosplayers perform gender and how conventions are spaces in which cosplayers feel comfortable exploring gender norms. Recently I have been situating my work in relation to literature about Drag Queens, comparing and contrasting ways in which participants view themselves, their gender identity, and their performances as different characters.
