Sean O'Sullivan is an Assistant Professor of English at The Ohio State University. He is the author of *Mike Leigh* (2011), a volume in the University of Illinois Press series on Contemporary Film Directors. He has written numerous articles on serial narrative across media, including such topics as: *Deadwood* and Charles Dickens; *The Decalogue* and the remaking of American television; third seasons; *The Sopranos* and episodic form; and poetry and serial television. His essay on *Mad Men* and modernist structure—“Space Ships and Time Machines: *Mad Men* and the Serial Condition”—was awarded Honorable Mention for Best Essay in an Edited Collection, 2012, by the Society for Cinema and Media Studies.
