Tim Palmer is Professor of Film Studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, whose research has been sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities. He is the author of Brutal Intimacy: Analyzing Contemporary French Cinema (2011) and Irreversible (2015), and co-editor of Directory of World Cinema: France (2013). His research has been published in many journals including Cinema Journal, Modern & Contemporary France, Studies in French Cinema, The French Review, Journal of Film and Video, Contemporary Review of Film and Television Studies, Cinephile, and Film International, as well as numerous scholarly anthologies published in the UK, the USA, and France.
