Gail Ann McFarland is currently a student at Georgia State University. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in film and video from Georgia State University in 2017, and completed her Master of Arts degree at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2019. An African American Studies major, with a concentration in culture and aesthetics, Ms. McFarland’s present research centers on narrative subversion, and race, class, and culture in 1980s film comedy.
