This project contains analysis of the results of a survey I conducted in which I asked respondents to identify and reflect on the software programs that they use in their scholarly work. After analyzing the collected data, I argue that the expected product of this scholarly work—The Dissertation—has not changed, despite major changes to the scholarly process precipitated by the introduction of a variety of software used to perform or support scholarly work.
