Jennifer L. Peterson (PhD University of Chicago) is the author of Education in the School of Dreams: Travelogues and Early Nonfiction Film (Duke University Press, 2013). Her articles have been published in Cinema Journal, Camera Obscura, The Moving Image, the Getty Research Journal, and numerous edited collections. Her research has been supported by the Mellon Foundation and the Getty Research Institute. She taught for a decade in the Film Studies Program at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she earned tenure in 2013. She is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Communication at Woodbury University in Los Angeles. Her new book project is tentatively entitled Cinema's Wilderness Past: Nature and Technology in American Film History Before the 1960s.
